How a surf mural invigorated the local streetscape

There’s a wall around the corner from our office, on the intersection of Fischer St and Bristol Rd, that was regularly vandalised with unsightly graffiti.

So when we were approached by the wall’s owners, LS Webb Property Group, about partnering to help transform the space from ugly to art, we jumped at the chance.

Local artist Adam Stanley, known for his vibrant surfscapes, was enlisted to spruce up the space. With a little help from his friends, Adam transformed the 30-metre wall from drab to fab, creating a vibrant right-handed surf break.

We sponsored the paint used on the mural, and Woolworths Torquay and The Surf Coast Shire also contributed to the initiative.

Our Director, Shaun O’Callaghan, says it was a huge privilege to be involved with this project that he feels has invigorated the local area.

“Not only does the mural help transform and beautify a prominent public space seen by locals and tourists alike, but it also showcases the work of a talented local artist.”
